In 1991, the world was still connected through individuals and relationships. Smart phones were more than a decade away, and smart people could still make something new that wouldn’t go out of style two weeks later. It was then that John Zofchak, our founder, had an idea: to begin manufacturing salads at Newmarket Square in Boston. The name Boston Salads & Prepared Foods said it all, and as the company blossomed in the years that followed, the business earned an exceptional reputation for quality and a budding partnership as master distributor of Dietz & Watson Premium Meats & Cheeses in New England. In the shadow of the new millennium, Boston Salads relocated to a new, 30,000 square foot manufacturing facility – not far from where it began a decade earlier.
