He and his sister, Mildred, built their agency and prospered for many years. Homer decided to retire in 1968 and sold the Homer Wertz Agency to Donald Roadman. In 1971 Donald purchased the William S. Reed Agency and merged them into the present-day RWR. Donald managed and expanded the agency until 1993 when his son, Todd Roadman, purchased the business from him.
