LA Kelley Communications was founded in 1990 with the belief that any individual facing hardship, adversity or challenges-when given the right tools-can overcome, triumph, and even grow stronger in character and confidence. Chronic medical disorders can present such challenges. The birth of a child with a chronic blood disorder like hemophilia thrusts parents into communicating with medical experts, visiting hospitals, administering treatment, negotiating insurance, diagnosing bleeds, and assessing physical risks. Parents feel overwhelmed at first because they lack the educational tools needed to negotiate this new territory. Where will they find them? LA Kelley Communications creates and provides these tools. Our groundbreaking books and newsletter speak to you, parent to parent, patient to patient, with the single goal of helping you master your world of bleeding disorders. Our publications are clear and strategic, encouraging you to be proactive in your child's healthcare. We offer comprehensive books for parents, patients and leaders, insightful articles for consumers, the world's first books on von Willebrand Disease, inhibitors and bleeding disorders for children, and engaging presentations and workshops. And for patients, it's all free. As experts in hemophilia, we work with families and for families-and the for-profit and nonprofit organizations that serve them. You need not suffer from ignorance, fear or indecision. When you have the right information readily available, with help a phone call away, you can confidently master your child's bleeding disorder, just as thousands of others have done with help from our company.

The Eagleson Institute is a non-profit foundation with a mission to globally promote the principles and practices of health and safety in the life sciences community. We carry out our mission by offering seminars, producing DVDs and software, awarding scholarships, and sponsoring lectures. The Eagleson Institute was founded in 1989 by Dennis Eagleson, CEO of The Baker Company, in memory of his father, John (Jack) M. Eagleson, Jr. Jack was president of The Baker Company, a manufacturer of Biological Safety Cabinets, Clean Benches, and Fume Hoods, from 1959 until his death in 1988. Beginning his career as an engineer, he was a pioneer in the development and testing of ventilation equipment. He was also a strong proponent of sharing information and teaching others. Whether in a formal training program or informal discussion, Jack liked to challenge the minds of his employees and others he met. These are the qualities on which the Eagleson Institute was founded, and for which the memory of Jack lives on.
