Seven Counties Services is a Community Mental Health Center that offers a full range of mental and behavioral health services, substance abuse treatment, and intellectual and developmental disabilities services in a seven-county region in Kentucky. Counties served include Jefferson, Oldham, Bullitt, Shelby, Spencer, Trimble, and Henry. Seven Counties Services is fully accredited by The Joint Commission. Stewart Home & School is one-of-a-kind community.  Most special education programs end at age 21, and then adult settings focus on vocational options and daily living skills.  Stewart Home & School is a residential school for people of all ages with intellectual disabilities. We assign each person with special needs a special education plan in addition to goals for vocational placement, social maturity growth and daily living skills training.  Working together with the student, his/her family and the school faculty, each plan is implemented on a year-round, three-semester basis and schedules are adjusted as needed.

GreenHouse17 is committed to ending intimate partner abuse in families and the community. Our specially trained advocates are available to help people harmed by intimate partner abuse any time of the day, every day of the year. Our main facility is situated on a beautiful 40-acre property in rural Fayette County. From this location and three other offices in our service area, we provide crisis intervention and stabilization programming to nurture lives harmed by intimate partner abuse. Our services are based in the trauma-informed care model. This means we honor that everyone responds to and heals from trauma in different ways. Survivors have the opportunity to be out in the fresh air on a beautiful 40-acre farm that surrounds our emergency shelter. Growing flowers, vegetables and herbs while growing strong in body and mind. Eating food fresh from the garden models good nutrition for kids living at our shelter, adults may participate in daily activities on the farm, should they choose, in exchange for a small stipend. We also offer other out-of-the-box activities like yoga and journaling to stretch and develop body and mind. We are a community-driven and supported organization. We believe domestic violence is a community issue. Every individual has the right to live a safe, violence-free life. As the clinical documentation specialist, I audit all written documentation (home studies, post-placement, court reports, etc) to ensure they meet agency, state, USCIS and/or international reporting standards. I was formerly the Executive Director of this agency, until relocating out of the state. I consult as needed on social work topics, family dynamics and challenges. At current, I am also responsible for the agency social media accounts: I maintain Facebook, created a vast social worker & family resource on Pinterest, & author posts on the agency blog as needed.

Refuge for Women is a non-profit organization that offers assistance and help to women coming out of the adult entertainment industry. Refuge is a free, one year program that has assisted over 60 women in less than four years. Duties as intern included co-planning the first annual spring gala for the organization, which raised over $30,000 and accommodated 250 guests from the Central Kentucky area. Other duties included teaching Dating Class to the Refuge for Women guests every Friday morning and managing the guests’ personal and financial belongings for the day.
