Our company manufactures sliced and rotary hardwood veneer. We were founded in 1914 by George E. Tomlinson, the great-grand father of our current owners. Until Mr. Tomlinson’s death in 1953, the company (called The George E. Tomlinson Co. at the time) manufactured hardwood lumber, tobacco hogsheads and Tomlinson Takedown banquet tables. Following Mr. Tomlinson’s death in 1953 his grandson, Gene Freeman, took over the business and expanded the company by adding the export of walnut veneer logs and then building his own hardwood sliced veneer production facility in 1967. In 1982 Mr. Freeman’s two sons, Reid and George Freeman, joined the business. In 1990 a rotary veneer operation was added. Throughout the past 25 years, the company has constantly reinvested back into its operations and has now expanded to encompass a 44 acres site with over 6 acres under roof. Our products are sold throughout the United States and to customers in over 20 other countries. Typical customers are manufacturers of office furniture, doors, 4x8 panel producers, kitchen cabinet and residential furniture manufacturers, as well as sales to custom millwork businesses. In addition, our rotary veneer products can be found in engineered flooring for most of the major manufacturers.

Graf Brothers’ lumber & flooring production is located on a 70-acre site in South Shore, KY where we currently produce 140,000 board feet of lumber per shift. Our state-of-the-art sawmills have been expertly engineered to manufacture rift and quarter sawn products. We regularly produce precision-cut rift and quartered white oak, 13” and wider. Boards that wide are unheard of within our industry; we pride ourselves on being at the forefront of innovation in both lumber and flooring production. In addition to our South Shore, KY location, we also maintain stock at our West Coast warehouse in Long Beach, CA. This allows us to service the "just-in-time" inventory level that specialty lumber and flooring customers demand in today’s economic climate. Along with our domestic sales, we have an extensive lumber export division that provides for clientele in Germany, England, Belgium, Greece and Asia.

Powell Valley Millwork is committed to manufacturing the highest quality Poplar mouldings and millwork products available. ​Centrally located in the heart of the Appalachian Forest, we are thirty minutes east of Lexington, Kentucky. We are a wholesale manufacturer of primed interior trim, plantation shutter components, jambs, S4S boards, picture frame mouldings, stretcher bars, and FJ Poplar moulder blanks. We sell truckload quantities of these products across North America. Our facilities boast more than 320,000 square feet of manufacturing space with over two hundred employees. The advanced finger-jointing, moulding, and priming technology we employ is only outpaced by our dedication to the highest quality standards in the industry and our commitment to serving our customers'​ needs.
