The Ephraim McDowell Health system is a comprehensive, integrated healthcare delivery system that serves more than 119,000 residents from six counties in central Kentucky. A committed group of Plumbers, Steamfitters & HVAC/R petitioned the United Association for a charter to form a Local based in Ashland Kentucky to represent Eastern Kentucky. The LU 248 Charter was granted on August 12, 1916 and the rest is history. Local 248 today represents Plumbers, Steamfitters & HVACR Technicians in 24 Eastern Kentucky counties.
