One of the top symphony orchestras in the United States, the Kansas City Symphony performs hundreds of concerts each year in service to the 2 million people of our region. We have attracted professional musicians from all across North America to move to Kansas City and make music together full-time as an 80-piece symphony orchestra. We are one of the country's most forward-thinking performing arts organizations, with a bold new commitment to serve more in our community than ever before. During our 42-week season, we perform a wide variety of concerts including classical, pops and family, film plus live orchestra, and educational programs. In addition to symphonic music of all kinds, the Symphony has deep roots in chamber music, and travels Kansas City with a mobile stage - the “Mobile Music Box” - throughout the warmer months. The Symphony also performs frequently with the Lyric Opera of Kansas City and the Kansas City Ballet. We are passionate about the power of music to transform lives. Never before has the need for unity and coming together been so acute in our society, and we aim to help fill that need with this art form that transcends division and celebrates the human experience. The Symphony organization is comprised of musicians, conductors, orchestra managers, creative professionals, marketers, fundraisers, finance pros, data scientists, and more. We are a team united by our love of music, our pride in Kansas City, and our shared purpose to serve humanity through the performance of live music.
