The IPA is the collective bargaining unit for the more than 2,900 professional pilots who fly the 277 heavy jet UPS fleet. ABOUT THE LOUISVILLE ORCHESTRA Founded in 1937 under the artistic leadership of Robert Whitney, The Louisville Orchestra performs over 125 concerts each season throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana. The LO has had a long commitment to music education. Their Making MUSIC program, which celebrated its 75th year in 2014, earned the LO the 2001 Leonard Bernstein Award for Outstanding Educational Programming. The Louisville Orchestra’s rich history included a deep dedication to contemporary music, and started commissioning new works in 1948. By 1950 the LO’s First Edition Recordings were distributed globally, sharing the music of celebrated composers such as Aaron Copland, Dimitri Shostakovich and even Duke Ellington. Dare to Care: a national award-winning anti-bullying program for Grade K-9. Providing interactive and practical workshops (live and virtual) for all stakeholders including: 1) Age appropriate workshops for Grades K-9 and sport teams 2) Parent education 3) Extensive Professional Development workshops for educators, support staff, administrators, coaches, and officials. Goal: Mobilizing the silent majority and changing lives.
