Dew Products are manufactured by Ecoanolytes Ltd in Dundee. Demand for the products has sky rocketed since the turn of the year. Part of that has been accelerated by the onset of the corona virus, but even before then the company was experiencing a real acceleration in growth, especially of its online sales. Dew is a suite of cleaning products, the active ingredient in all of them being ‘Electrolysed water’ created from just a little salt, de-ionised water and a small amount of electricity. The magic comes from the process of electrolysis and the active ingredient, Hypochlorous Acid. This creates products that are safe and environmentally friendly, free from any toxic or harsh chemicals and more powerful than bleach. Run by Erik Smith, the company is now in the process of rebranding its products and launching a new e-commerce website. Markets have opened up and as well as selling to direct consumers, the company is in discussion with various public sector organisations, as well as wholesalers, retail chains, and agents in foreign territories. Initially the company was gaining traction for its green credentials and recycling policies such as its refill operation, ensuring all plastic containers are reusable. Then Corona Virus hit the world in February, and March saw the companies sales growing massively. The unprecedented demand for hand sanitisers led the initial sales surge. The fact that Dew products kills 99.995% of bacteria, viruses and fungi, means it is more powerful than an alcohol based sanitiser. However, the company's Disinfect and Superclean products were also in high demand, with customers loving the fact that all Dew's cleaning products are safe and effective and will not harm families and pets. The market for Dew is a worldwide one. The pandemic has changed people's attitudes to personal and home hygiene forever, and Dew products are perfectly placed to take advantage of the growing market for effective sustainable and green cleaning products.
