Lino's, a 3rd generation Italian American Restaurant in Rockford, IL, founded by Mike (Lino) and Pat Battista in 1972. Being hired as a food runner and busser, I strengthened my customer service skills, and stepped out of my comfort zone taking on two new roles in a brand-new restaurant. I wanted to try something new, but still keep my other serving job. I am blessed to have the experience I did this summer working here, as I made many close connections and heightened my communication skills and developed a whole new set of problem-solving skills fitting for a food runner and busser. Listening skills were key to being successful and to working well with coworkers.
