• Develops IASA & IASBO’s public policy agenda. • Maintains an extensive understanding of Illinois school code, the roles of school superintendents and school business officials, and Evidence Based Funding (EBF). • Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with legislators and other public officials, including Constitutional officers, appropriate state agencies, legislative leadership, and relevant committee chairs. • Directly lobbies members of the Illinois General Assembly, other elected officials, and agency staff on legislative and policy matters.• Provides policy research, development of support materials, recruitment of spokespersons, preparation of testimony, and other activities as needed to advance the associations’ agendas. • Attends and participates in relevant IASA/IASBO meetings throughout the year, including national, state-level, and regional meetings.
