In just the team’s third season of action, the Bucks earned the distinction of owning the quickest rise from expansion team to champion in any of the four major North American professional leagues. The Bucks also count two conference championships, 13 division titles, and 27 postseason appearances among the team’s many accomplishments. Additionally, numerous Bucks players, coaches, and contributors are included as members of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

A 501(c)(3) organization, Milwaukee World Festival, Inc. hosts a variety of festivals and other events and manages Summerfest, The World's Largest Music Festival, an annual 9-day music celebration that averages 900,000 attendees and began in 1968. In addition, the organization manages the operations of Henry W. Maier Festival Park, situated on a 75-acre permanent site along the shores of Lake Michigan in downtown Milwaukee. The property is the setting for a series of events, concerts and ethnic and cultural festivals that attract an average of 1.4 million patrons each year.

Ravinia Festival®, North America’s oldest music festival, stands today as its most musically diverse, presenting over 100 different events throughout the summer. These concerts run the gamut from Yo-Yo Ma to John Legend to the annual summer residency of the nation’s finest orchestra, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Jeff Haydon is Ravinia’s President and CEO, bringing more than two decades of arts management and programming experience to the top job, as well as a lifelong love of music as both an avid audience member and musician. Haydon is dedicated to building on the “Ravinia experience,” including inspiring and enabling communities to engage with music through the festival’s Reach Teach Play programs. One of the world’s most accomplished conductors, Marin Alsop is Chief Conductor and Curator for multiple weeks of concerts with the CSO. The festival employs a full-time staff of about 55 year-round, but that number grows tenfold when summer arrives and seasonal jobs go to ushers, food service, phone center operators, and others who help the show to go on. Ravinia also runs its prestigious summer music conservatory, the Steans Music Institute, on its grounds. Each year, 60–70 talented young professional musicians from around the world are awarded fully paid fellowships to come work with an esteemed faculty and the headliners who frequent the festival. The 36-acre park, just north of Chicago, is nestled in a gently wooded area that makes it an enchanting place to experience music, whether in the 3,350-seat open-air Pavilion and the surrounding Lawn, or indoors in the 850-seat Martin Theatre or 450-seat Bennett Gordon Hall. Guests can bring their own picnics or enjoy food and drinks from the restaurants and bars in the park. Children up to age 15 and high-school and college students are admitted free to the Lawn for classical performances.

Milwaukee Rep is the largest performing arts organization in Wisconsin in terms of audiences served and one of the largest professional theaters in the country. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Mark Clements and Executive Director Chad Bauman, each year Milwaukee Rep welcomes 300,000 people at 700 performances of 15 productions ranging from compelling dramas, powerful classics, new plays and full-scaled musicals in its three unique performance venues – the Quadracci Powerhouse, Stiemke Studio and Stackner Cabaret. Among the finest orchestras in the country, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra is the largest cultural organization in Wisconsin. Since its inception in 1959, the orchestra has received critical acclaim for artistic excellence. Eighty-three full-time professional musicians perform more than 130 concerts each season. A cornerstone organization in Milwaukee's community, the MSO provides enrichment and education activities for audiences of every age, economic status, and background. The MSO is recognized as a pioneer in the world of new music among American orchestras. For 41 years, the symphony's nationally syndicated radio broadcasts have ranked among the nation's largest collections, enjoyed on more than 240 stations throughout the United States. In 2005, the MSO became the first American orchestra to offer live recordings for download directly through online music stores including iTunes. The MSO is honored to participate in the second Spring for Music Festival at Carnegie Hall on May 11, 2012. The MSO's standard of excellence extends beyond the concert hall and into the community, reaching more than 40,000 children and their families through its ACE (Arts in Community Education) program, Youth and Teen concerts, Kinderkonzerts, Music for Me concerts, and Behind the Notes pre-concert talks and Friday post-concert Talkbacks. This season, 7,200 students and 1,200 faculty and staff members in 21 Southeastern Wisconsin elementary and middle schools will participate in ACE.
