Established in 1988, Arbor Counseling Center is a comprehensive psychotherapy practice that provides the highest quality counseling and consultation services to: Children, Adolescents, Adults, Couples, Families, Community Organizations, Businesses and Schools. We serve clients in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago including Lake, McHenry and Cook Counties. With 31 licensed therapists on staff and four offices in Hoffman Estates, Crystal Lake, Buffalo Grove and Gurnee, we can be more responsive to the needs of case managers, employee assistance programs, human resource professionals and referring organizations within the community. Since 1997, Housing HQ has provided nationwide 24-hour emergency ALE relocation service for the insurance industry. We specialize in quickly placing families into hotels and affordable, fully-furnished, temporary housing after they have experienced an insured incident that makes their homes unlivable. Every year Housing HQ assists thousands of families in finding temporary ALE housing. As a result of this experience, we understand the terrible ordeal they’re going through and the difficulties of their situation—home and possessions destroyed, and often no ID, cash or credit cards available. Working with the family, we’ll make sure their housing needs are met as quickly and as smoothly as possible. Pre-Negotiated Rates Thanks to our relationship with preferred hotel chains across the country, we can provide your customers with a room that same night, often with a kitchenette. And because we have pre-negotiated rates, the costs are usually discounted, saving you money in the process. We will even find housing that accommodates pets, eliminating the need to pay additional boarding fees while allowing four-legged friends to remain with their families. Helping the Family Within 15 minutes of your contacting us and approving the hotel budget, we’ll be in touch with the policyholder to explain our process. We’ll handle check-in and payment of the room and tax. We even coordinate with the hotel so the policyholder may not need to present ID and credit card.

For more than 50 years, TriCity Family Services has been a trusted nonprofit agency dedicated to strengthening people and building community through the provision of quality, affordable counseling, youth crisis intervention, prevention and early intervention services that promote sound mental health and effective family functioning.

In the early 1970’s, a group of women known as the Women’s Development Council were concerned about the prevalence of domestic violence around them—in their lives, their friends lives, and in the community as a whole. The idea for a shelter—a safe place for victims--was born and Mutual Ground was incorporated in August 1975. The goal of this new agency was to provide emergency shelter for families in crisis and offer 24-hour services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, to include counseling, support, and referrals to other agencies. The first shelter opened in1978 on the top floor of a property rented from the First Presbyterian Church in Aurora. The nation’s economy was ailing, which at the family level translated to higher incidences of domestic violence and sexual assault. Fortunately, things turned around and in 1984 Mutual Ground purchased a two story house on North Lake Street that could serve 14 women and children. Sexual Assault services were housed in a separate building on Lincoln Ave. The need for domestic violence services surged in the early 90’s and Mutual Ground found it was turning away hundreds of women and children each year due to lack of bed space to house them. A search began to find a big enough building for everyone who needed “shelter from the storm.” In 1995, following an enormous $2.3 million capital campaign, Mutual Ground was able to purchase and renovate the building. And after more than 20 years of Sexual Assault Services in one location and Domestic Violence Services in another, Mutual Ground could finally put all services in one place in 1996. Today, in a given year, Mutual Ground provides services to about 1,500 victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, our prevention education program is in 1,750 classrooms and we can accommodate 28 women and their children in our emergency shelter. Our budget is now at $1.8million with a staff of 43 and calls to the hotline exceed 1500 every month.

Description: Designed, coordinated and implemented a variety of state-wide housing services by providing leadership and guidance to regional directors and housing specialists for the operations, management, policies and procedures in support of the program goals and objectives. Achievements: • Implemented and developed internal policies and procedures for a groundbreaking statewide farm worker Rental Subsidy Program. • Conducted regional housing information exchanges/forums with housing and direct human service agencies, including United States Department of Agriculture, Illinois Department of Human Rights, United States Department of Labor, Illinois Department of Human Services and Illinois Department of Employment Security. • Leveraged funds to support and sustain direct housing services for statewide farm worker organization; surpassed financial goals. Obtained over $1 million in public and private funders for the operations and implementation of rent subsidies to eligible migrant and seasonal farm workers. • Cross-trained five statewide regional directors and work force development case managers in the farm worker housing program guidelines and eligibility criteria, first time homebuyer education, landlord/tenant rights and responsibilities as well as fair housing. • Recruited, supervised, managed and trained four housing specialist located in satellite offices throughout the state. • Wrote training manuals for housing programs. • Reported program progress and outcomes to program funders.
