• Led monthly financial statement meetings with business leaders, and managed all accounting functions
for assigned businesses, including A/R, A/P, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial
statement preparation/analysis; organized and cleaned old books, implementing correct accounting
procedures for recording revenue, COGS, and inventory.
• Established accounting policies & procedures for all company entities, forecasted weekly cash positions
to determine a variety of project funding, preparing schedule E/C data and 1065 US Return of
Partnership Income, and booking 2013 K-1 results to the company’s financials; consistent
policies/procedures across the entities led to upper management easily reviewing and determining
profitability across each company.
• Managed a team of three Senior Accountants and six business entities, assisting with the proper
recognition of Groupons, sales & use tax returns, month-end close accruals, financial statement
preparation, 1120 S tax returns, and cash funding requests.
• Led the financial shut down of Little Miss Muffin, a company entity, including the transition of
accounting duties, processing final payroll, open A/P negotiations, aggressive A/R collections, and
building shut down; minimized additional spend, bringing in due balances and negotiating payments
down to a comfortable point.
• Served as an accounting team lead during a system migration from QuickBooks to NetSuite, ensuring companies used the same system; the migration allowed executive leadership to review all businesses and make critical investment decisions.
• Determined opening balance sheets for business acquisition and submitted the required documents for business registration in new states.
• Collaborated with the payroll processor, establishing a feed from the payroll system to the accounting system; improved payroll journal entry process, and removed manual payroll entries, ensuring accuracy and saving time.
