Grace Pacific LLC was incorporated in 1931 by two brothers, John and Walter Grace. Grace Brothers Limited operated for many years as a construction materials supplier. Grace Brothers purchased a quarry at Nanakuli and asphalt paving plants at Halawa and on Molokai from Nanakuli Limestone & Gravel Company in 1973. In 1984, Grace purchased the stock of Pacific Concrete & Rock Company and secured the lease to the present rock quarry at Makakilo and merged the two companies together and created Grace Pacific. Grace Pacific diversified its product lines beyond highway paving and reconstruction to include the manufacture of asphaltic concrete and crushed basalt, limestone, and sand aggregates. Grace Pacific acquired Hawaiian Bitumuls & Paving Company in 2001, Niu Construction in 2002, SUN Industries in 2003, Mid Pac Petroleum in2011 and established three joint venture companies (LLC) - GP/RM Prestress in 2006, Maui Paving in 2006 and GLP Asphalt in 2007.
