We’re Local. And Proud Of It.® Our story began in 2004 when CSB opened its doors in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina as southern Beaufort County’s only locally-owned bank. Our founders saw an opportunity to serve the community through a relationship-based bank, staffed by friends and neighbors to serve friends and neighbors. Success soon followed, and we grew to four full-service branches and more than $400 million in assets. As of December 31, 2020, CSB had approximately $1.15 billion in total assets. Longstanding relationships and deep roots in the Lowcountry provided a strong foundation that enabled us to survive the Great Recession. Strengthened by a recapitalization in 2017, we are now poised to strengthen our current market position and expand our franchise to new markets throughout the Southeast. We believe that many communities throughout the Southeast need Local. Local is more than geography. Local is community. Local is relationships. Our bankers are Local. We have a proven track record of success and share a passion for serving our clients and communities. We offer a variety of financial resources to help our clients achieve their goals, including commercial, consumer, and mortgage banking products and services. We are excited about the next chapter in our story and we invite you to be part of it. Welcome to Coastal States Bank. Like you, we’re Local. And Proud Of It.® Member FDIC, Equal Housing Lender.

BANK OF THE LOWCOUNTRY
BANK OF THE LOWCOUNTRY
Walterboro, South Carolina

Bank of the Lowcountry is the “hometown bank” of the communities it serves and we are committed to provide personal and efficient service to our customers. Member FDIC and Equal Housing Lender Bank of the Lowcountry is a local community bank founded in Walterboro, SC – the “front porch of the Lowcountry.” Our institution was founded by ten prominent Walterboro businessmen in October of 1988, resulting in the first commercial chartered bank organized in Walterboro in over 65 years. Bank of the Lowcountry officially opened its doors for business under its original name, Bank of Walterboro, in 1989 with only nine original employees. To better serve our customers in Charleston County, the Bank opened its second branch in Ravenel, SC in 1997. Our third branch was opened in 2003 to help accommodate customer demand in our hometown. Originally designed as a drive-up location, our Forest Hills branch was later converted to a full-service branch. That year we also opened a branch in Ridgeland, SC to better serve the residents of Jasper and Beaufort counties. As we continued to grow, it only seemed natural to move into the oldest and largest city in the state, Charleston. In 2018 a Loan Production office was opened on historic King Street. Bank of Walterboro completed the legal name change in 2019 and officially opened as Bank of the Lowcountry across all markets to represent the widespread communities we have grown to serve, as well as the communities and customers that have been instrumental to the banks success for the past 30 years.

Like all Credit Unions, Georgia Heritage Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative. We have enjoyed a long, remarkable history as one of the oldest locally owned financial institutions in the area. The Union Bag Federal Credit Union was organized on April 15, 1940, to serve the employees of the Union Bag Corporation working at the Savannah paper factory. In 1966, the Credit Union changed its name to Union Camp Savannah Federal Credit Union to coincide with the new name of its sponsor group. Having remained a single sponsor organization for 59 years, the Credit Union changed its name to Georgia Heritage FCU in 1999 when Union Camp was purchased by International Paper. In 2006, the Credit Union received a community charter, which allows anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in Chatham, Effingham and Bryan counties to join. We are owned and operated by our members, and exist solely for the purpose of serving our members' best interests. Our vision is to build lifelong relationships with everyone we serve.

We were founded by people who wanted to offer a better banking experience—one with the technical prowess of a big bank and the personal service of a community bank. The Southern Bank blends those two experiences into one, with business-minded bankers delivering big-bank technology without losing the warmth and classic, casual Southern service of a community bank. If you’re looking for a high-tech, high-touch banking relationship, we at The Southern Bank are pleased to make your acquaintance. #TheSouthernBank [Member FDIC]
