The mission of the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera (CSO) is to inspire, engage, and enrich the greater Chattanooga community through music and music education. Founded in 1933, the CSO has been an instrumental part of the greater Chattanooga community. The CSO’s mission is to inspire, engage, and enrich the greater Chattanooga community through music and music education. As the city’s only fully professional performing arts organization, the CSO provides a superb orchestra that enhances the region’s quality of life and economic vitality. In addition to performing a full season of mainstage concerts, the CSO conducts a variety of community, education, and engagement events throughout the year. Through our mainstage concerts, educational programming, and community engagement activities, the impact of the CSO’s endeavors reach over 100,000 individuals annually. Our focus on music and music education has made us an instrumental part of the greater Chattanooga community.
