Top End Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Electrical (RACE) was launched in May 2005 by Directors Matthew Kelly and Andrew Armstrong (Matt and Andy) at a small office and workshop in Berrimah, Northern Territory. The foundation of this company came about due to the identification of certain market areas within the Northern Territory where there was room for an Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Electrical Company to provide reliable and professional service that otherwise was hard for customers to procure from a single ‘one stop shop’ contracting company. Matt and Andy had both worked in the Northern Territory for a period of time prior to the launch of RACE and had therefore managed to gather a keen understanding of the local business environment and the positive opportunities that the Northern Territory has to offer. In addition to this, during their time prior to the launch of RACE they had made a significant number of contacts within the Northern Territory air conditioning, refrigeration and electrical industry as well as numerous potential customers and importantly key skilled, Professional Administrative and Trade staff. Given the strong, positive position afforded by the resources at hand RACE was launched with a base staff number of 14 and has continued to grow ever since with current permanent staffing numbering over 50.
