Mission Statement: Southern Oregon Head Start prepares all children and their families for success in school and throughout life. As the Community Action Agency of Jackson County, Oregon, ACCESS has been helping residents break the cycle of poverty since 1976. Last year, 52,497 people received assistance from ACCESS's broad continuum of services, including obtaining safe, affordable housing, rental assistance, utility assistance, weatherization, free loaned durable medical equipment, and healthy food.

Dogs for Better Lives (formerly Dogs for the Deaf) is an award-winning national nonprofit, professionally training dogs to help people and enhance lives while maintaining a lifelong commitment to all dogs we rescue or breed, and all people we serve. Dogs for Better Lives is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that rescues, trains, and places Assistance Dogs throughout the United States. We place Hearing Assistance Dogs (nationally), Autism Assistance Dogs (WA, CA, and OR), and Facility Dogs (nationally), all at not cost to the client. Dogs for Better Lives is fully underwritten through private donations made by individuals, foundations, community groups, and businesses. Dogs for Better Lives has earned the highest level 4-star rating with Charity Navigator for the last seven years and 100% of every donation goes towards programmatic services.

We have been supporting individuals who experience I/DD and their families in Jackson County for over 40 years. In 1974, we were provided a unique opportunity to transform lives by moving residents out of Fairview, the state institution. We knew that with the proper support and resources, many individuals living with disabilities could thrive in their own apartments or homes within our community. Today they are doing just that, with the support of Living Opportunities. At Living Opps we all aspire to the same goal: that individuals live with dignity, and experience meaningful work and rewarding careers. To do this we focus on holistic, inclusive community building that at its heart is about connecting people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives. For the individuals we support, we emphasize choice above all, helping them discover their own passions and build meaningful relationships. As one of the largest service providers to people with I/DD in Southern Oregon, we meet basic needs and provide services to hundreds of individuals of all ages. Specifically, Living Opps provides services through a variety of avenues: 24-hour supported residential care, semi-independent supported living, individualized supported employment, fine art & music workshops, in-home behavior consulting, assistive technology training, and organizational mentoring.
