Central Valley Medical Center (CVMC) is a leader among rural health care facilities. The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) listed CVMC in the top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in America. CVMC also ranks among the 60 highest Critical Access Hospitals in the United States for Patient Perception. Stanislaus Surgical Hospital is a physician owned hospital that opened its doors as an ambulatory surgery center in 1985*. As one of the first Surgery Centers, Stanislaus set the mark for service and efficiency. In 1998, shareholders voted to convert the Surgery Center into an acute care hospital. SSH was licensed and certified in January 2000. In 2007 SSH acquired Precision Imaging to provide a wide range of diagnostic imaging services to the Stanislaus County service area.
