Open Door Community Health Centers is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) system that provides quality care and health education to over 55,000 residents of Humboldt and Del Norte counties. Open Door serves with a mission to provide high quality care to all regardless of financial, geographic or social barriers. Currently, the organization has 13 clinics as well as mobile dental and medical vans. Through example, education, and participation in the healthcare community, Open Door seeks to promote the development of a healthcare system that meets the needs and enhances the health of all individuals in the region. In 2018, the 13-clinic system was one of 35 FQHCs in the country to be recognized by the federal government's Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) as a National Quality Leader.

Today, we are team of over 100 providing care for people with a life-threatening illness. The focus of care offered by Hospice of Humboldt is on quality of life with an emphasis on pain control and symptom management. The mission of the blood center is to provide a safe and adequate supply of blood to the patients we serve. To achieve this mission, fifty to sixty donors are needed daily. The Northern California Community Blood Bank is a non-profit organization. The blood bank began in 1951 and for the past 56 years there has been a diverse group of individuals (too many to name) that have helped the blood bank thrive.
