California Health Sciences University was founded in 2012 and is the first university of its kind in the Central Valley. Envisioned by the Assemi family, CHSU offers a local option for health care professionals seeking doctoral programs and to help remedy the shortage of health care services offered in the Valley. Students can enjoy the unique combination of high quality of life, affordable cost of living and plentiful career opportunities the Valley provides. CHSU is currently accepting applications for its Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) program. The California Health Sciences University campus is in beautiful Clovis, California. Administrative offices and the College of Pharmacy are at 120 N. Clovis Avenue. The College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Simulation Center are at 2500 Alluvial Avenue. With gorgeous views of the Sierra Nevada mountains, the three-story College of Osteopathic Medicine building opened in 2020 and incorporates innovative technology throughout. The facility features large classrooms, an Osteopathic Skills lab, a library, plentiful private and collaborative study spaces, a spacious student lounge with Teaching Kitchen, and a Simulation Center. The Simulation Center includes an inpatient area that resembles a hospital environment and an outpatient area that is like a clinic or doctor’s office. The innovative Simulation Center was meticulously planned to maximize interactive learning. CHSU’s 110-acre campus site provides plenty of space for decades of expansion. The campus could ultimately approach 2,000 students and nearly 300 faculty and staff. Further development of the campus will occur in multiple phases, as new programs and colleges are added for postgraduate health education. For over 40 years, Edu-Care Services, Inc. (ECS) has partnered with public and private schools, preschools, early childhood centers, administrators, teachers and parents to provide quality educational materials and resources that enhance the learning experience and academic growth of children. ECS and The Learning Source are locally owned and based in Harrisburg, PA but provide service to educators across the country through our Customer Service Department and convenient online catalog. ECS proudly provides books, classroom decorative materials, art supplies, manipulatives, games, toys and furniture. In addition, ECS carries a wide-range of teacher resources that support the language arts, math, science and social studies curriculum. ECS partners with some of the most trusted and respected textbook publishing companies to support schools with supplemental consumable materials such as workbooks, teacher support materials and classroom kits. ECS has expanded to include the Exemplar Titles that are suggested by the Common Core State Standards Initiative team in the support materials that are available. ECS also developed a “Go-Kit” that is designed specifically for teachers to use in an emergency or when a class is leaving the classroom for some reason. Who We Are We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, behavioral health, dental and vision services to individuals across the East San Gabriel Valley and Pomona Communities. We practice patient-centered care and strive to serve each patient with the care that meets their individual needs. Who We Serve Our service area is a large, diverse, complex and rapidly changing geographic area that is home to over 700,000 people and faces significant challenges in chronic disease, including diabetes, hypertension and asthma. The majority of our patients are the working poor, and 62% are uninsured. East Valley holds public and private contracts with many funding sources, which allow us to provide medical services at very low cost to qualifying individuals. East Valley is also affiliated with two local IPAs and holds managed care contracts with most health plans operating in California. Fees for our services are on a sliding scale, but no one is turned away because of inability to pay. East Valley accepts all public health insurance, such as Medi-Cal (also known as Medicaid), Medicare, and public programs such as My Health L.A. as well as private health insurance. Most importantly, if you or your family are not covered by any health insurance plan, our certified enrollment counselors will help you apply for Covered CA, Medi-Cal, Medicare so you can be assured your that you are accessing the best coverage options for and your family. If you don’t qualify for health insurance we can assist you with public programs, such as My Health L.A. (MHLA) in accordance to their eligibility requirements. East Valley is a medical home for people who cannot be seen or cared for anywhere else.
