Providing a rich and diverse cultural experience, The San Diego Museum of Art houses some of the world’s finest art. The USS Midway Museum started in 1992 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit business, and opened as a museum in 2004. Since then, the Midway has become one of the top tourist destinations in Southern California, and the most visited ship museum in the United States. The USS Midway served in the US Navy from 1945-1992, making it the longest serving aircraft carrier in naval history. The museum employs dioramas, audio/visual technology, and volunteer docents, many of which served on the Midway, to help guests better understand what life was like for those who served on board. The museum also has full-motion flight simulators, an onboard eatery and gift shop, and is conveniently located in one of the most beautiful spots in San Diego. The Midway also has a top-notch education program and is heavily involved in the community and in programs that support our men and women in uniform. In her short time in operation, the USS Midway Museum has become recognized as America's Living Symbol of Freedom.

With two locations, the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) is the region’s foremost forum devoted to the exploration and presentation of the art of our time, presenting works across all media created since 1950. Located in the heart of downtown San Diego and in the coastal community of La Jolla, MCASD provides an unprecedented variety of exhibition spaces and experiences for the community, showcasing an internationally recognized collection and a dynamic schedule of exhibitions and public programs. The Richard Nixon Foundation is a privately supported, non-profit institution dedicated to educating the public about the life, legacy, and times of the Thirty-Seventh President. Through unique exhibits and events the Nixon Foundation helps visitors discover the many surprising and unexpected accomplishments of the 37th president and the impact they have on our world today. The Foundation supports exhibits and programs on the nine acre Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum. As a performing arts center for public affairs, the Foundation’s year-round programming features national policy conferences, study groups, town meetings, school editor forums, and a continual schedule of distinguished speakers and authors from government, politics, the media, and public affairs. The Presidential Library is home to more than 42 million pages of documentation and material from Richard Nixon’s life in politics, as well as a nationally recognized research center, giving students and scholars the opportunity to study RN’s legacy and historic presidency.

Formerly known as the San Diego Museum of Man, the Museum of Us is an anthropology museum with a mission to inspire human connections by exploring the human experience. Centered on core anthropological values such as compassion, sitting in generosity rather than judgment, and love for all humanity, the Museum of Us takes a different approach from the traditional authoritative “museum voice." The 501(c)(3) non-profit was founded in Balboa Park in 1915 and is located in the iconic California Building and Tower. Through original, interactive exhibits visitors discover what it means to be human - whether it's exploring how beer shaped civilizations, connecting with strangers over shared secrets, or discovering who cannibals really are (could you be one?).

The New Children's Museum is a dynamic new model of a museum that celebrates children and the arts. The Museum brings families together in a rich educational environment that fosters creativity— blending elements of art museum, children's museum, and community center. A non-profit institution funded by admissions, memberships, and community support, the Museum empowers children to think, play and create through participatory exhibitions, engaging art-making activities, captivating artistic performances, and in-depth educational opportunities. Serving all ages, from toddler to teen, The New Children's Museum inspires new ways to see the world through the language of art. In May of 2008, The New Children's Museum opened a new environmentally sustainable facility in downtown San Diego's Marina District. Designed by Rob Wellington Quigley, the 50,000-square-foot building houses expansive galleries, open studio environments, and an Arts Education Center offering unique classes and camps. Across the street from the building is a beautiful park, extending the museum visit outdoors with space for running, climbing, family picnics and a view of the trains and trolley going by. Rounded out with an organic cafe, abundant seating, quiet space for parents and infants, and an outdoor park, the Museum provides a comfortable and engaging environment for the entire family to enjoy together.

The San Diego Air & Space Museum is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit, founded in 1961. The Museum is unique to the region and serves the public through its mission – to celebrate the history of aviation and space; to educate the public regarding science and aerospace technology; and to inspire innovation and achievement. The SDASM was the first aero-themed museum to be accredited by the American Association of Museums (1986), is an affiliate of the Smithsonian, and nationally recognized as one of the country’s premier aerospace museum.
