We partner with individuals, families and businesses to create charitable funds to help them realize their philanthropic vision. We have granted more than $137 million to hundreds of nonprofits in the areas of arts and culture, community and social services, health, education, animal welfare, environment, and historic preservation. What began as a golf game between friends in 1937, Monterey Peninsula Foundation has consistently hosted world-class golf charity events, using the proceeds to power positive community change across Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties. Our mission, and everything we do, centers on golf and giving. Monterey Peninsula Foundation stages two celebrated golf tournaments: the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on the PGA TOUR and the PURE Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach, a PGA TOUR Champions event. Each year, the community investments that stem each of these golf tournaments support hundreds of nonprofits working to impact thousands of lives in the Central Coast region in California.

Hospice Giving Foundation is an independent grant-making foundation exclusively focused on end-of-life care and preparedness. Unaffiliated with a direct patient care provider, Hospice Giving Foundation is the primary funder of a spectrum of qualified nonprofit agencies that deliver compassionate end-of-life care in Monterey and San Benito Counties. Since 1997, Hospice Giving Foundation has awarded grants totaling almost $31 million. Through our community education, professional education, and end-of-life resources, Hospice Giving Foundation provides a platform for the conversation about death and dying to increase people’s understanding, acceptance, and preparedness. Understanding that each of us may find some approaches more accessible than others, Hospice Giving Foundation’s outreach programming employs varied methods, including workshops, talks, dinner conversations, online tools, and creative media. HG Foundation serves the community by investing in service providers and relevant community education to ensure needed services are available throughout our community; for all in our community. Hospice Giving Foundation’s singular focus gives our communities a unique and valuable resource. Through our philanthropy programs we strive for highest donor satisfaction and are careful stewards of donor funds. Under the leadership and fiduciary guidance of our Board of Directors, HG Foundation is sustained by strategic investments, carefully disbursement of funds, and by being responsive to the changing healthcare landscape.

Responsible for the writing and implementation of natural resource management plans projects in a diversity of large wilderness landscapes in Monterey County. Manages habitats among a matrix of complex ecosystems that include Big Sur, Carmel Valley, Sierra de Salinas, Arroyo Seco, and coastal dunes in the Monterey Bay Dune Complex, using integrated management that includes ranching, agriculture, prescribed fire, and other management tools. Writes grants for all projects to implement under the auspices of management plans. Also serves as the GIS coordinator for the Big Sur Land Trust.

In addition, we provide connections - for people searching for help as well as those who want to give their time and talent to solve problems. Why Child Care and Housing? For six out of 10 families in Monterey County, these two expenses account for 50% or more of their monthly budget. These families are struggling. It's difficult for them to build assets and get ahead. By focusing on these two tough issues, United Way will help families achieve real, longterm stability. And that benefits us all. To tackle these complex problems, UWMC is bringing together diverse segments of the community – business, government, nonprofits and faith-based groups. Second Harvest is the oldest food bank in California and is a founding member of Feeding America. In our community’s efforts to ease food-insecurity, we recognize our donors, we celebrate our volunteers, we’re thankful for our partners and staff, and we truly see all our neighbors. WE are the Food Bank. Our mission is to inspire and support Santa Cruz County to provide nourishment for all community members.

Future Citizens Foundation's Mission is to offer the young people of Monterey County opportunities for a better future. As CEO, responsibilities included strategic planning and development oversight, budgeting and forecasting, human resources management, Community development and Board relations.

The Community Action Board of Santa Cruz County operates six programs that assist low-income residents to move out of poverty by focusing on four service areas: Homelessness Prevention & Essential Services Employment & Reentry Services Immigration Legal Assistance & Citizenship Services Community Building & Youth Development Services In 2016, CAB programs assisted 10,509 low-income participants with emergency, sustaining or self-sufficiency services, as well as addressing an additional 6,595 requests for information and referral or brief services. Over 75% of CAB’s clients had a family income of less than 100% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines and 83% less than 150% of the Guidelines. The Community Action Board has over 40 employees.
