The mission of the Alaska Institute for Justice is to protect the human rights of Alaskans. The Alaska Institute for Justice was founded in 2005 and was formerly known as the Alaska Immigration Justice Project. Today the services provided by AIJ include: • Direct legal services to Alaska’s immigrant and refugee communities, prioritizing legal representation for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and human trafficking and those fleeing torture and persecution in their country of origin. • Language Access through trained interpreters and translators for legal, medical and social service professionals, and clients • Social and Climate Justice work with Alaska Native communities

No excuse for hunger. With this core belief and a commitment to preventing good food from being wasted, a small group of Anchorage church and community volunteers organized Food Bank of Alaska in 1979 to serve the entire state. Our role is unique. Food Bank of Alaska works with food industry partners to salvage food that would otherwise go to waste from grocery stores, wholesalers, producers, farmers, and the fishing industry. We also collect food donated by community members and administer government food programs. This food is then shipped statewide to 150 partner food pantries, soup kitchens, senior centers, and children’s programs feeding their hungry neighbors. Currently 1 in 8 Alaskans, including 1 in 6 children, struggles with hunger. Your generosity makes it possible for Food Bank of Alaska to feed hungry children, families and seniors.

Bright Beginnings Early Learning Center located in downtown Glenpool specializes in preparing children under the age of 6 for success in elementary school and beyond. Opened in 2011, Bright Beginnings focuses on teaching children not only a secular education, but character, self-esteem, and a solid foundation in Christ. Through participation in the Department of Human Services subsidy program they strive to offer quality services to children that otherwise would not have the opportunity. In a little more than a year, Bright Beginnings has achieved a 2 star rating through the Oklahoma DHS. Currently Bright Beginnings is in the process of obtaining national accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to achieve a 3 star rating.
