Social Security Total Disability 

"Social Security Total Disability" refers to a disability status under the Social Security Administration (SSA) that entitles individuals to receive disability benefits. Here are the key features of SocialSecurity Total Disability:

 

·      Definition: To qualify as Social SecurityTotally Disabled, an individual must have a medical condition that prevents them from engaging in any substantial gainful activity (SGA) for at least 12months or is expected to result in death.

 

·      Work Requirements: In addition to meeting the medical requirements, the individual must also have worked for a certain number of years and paid into Social Security to be eligible for disability benefits.

 

·      Benefits: Social Security Total Disability benefits provide a monthly payment to help cover living expenses. The amount of the benefit is based on the individual's work history and earnings before becoming disabled.

 

·      Medical Coverage: After receiving disability benefits for two years, the individual is eligible for Medicare health insurance coverage.
