Georgetown University Press supports the academic mission of Georgetown University by publishing scholarly books and journals for a diverse, worldwide readership. These publications, written by an international group of authors representing a broad range of intellectual perspectives, reflect the academic and institutional strengths of the university. The beginnings of Georgetown University Press can be traced to 1964 when we were a part of the School of Languages and Linguistics. Over the years, we have always committed ourselves to illuminating, clarifying and responding to the world’s most difficult questions. We publish approximately forty new books a year, as well as the Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics, with an active list of close to 600 titles. SURA’s mission is to advance collaborative research and education and to strengthen the scientific capabilities of its members and our nation. SURA is a consortium of over 60 research institutions, primarily in the Southeastern U.S., established in 1980 to design, build and operate what is now Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility – a U.S. Department of Energy national laboratory. We now operate the lab through Jefferson Science Associates (JSA) – a joint venture with Pacific Architects and Engineers (PAE). DC PCSB is an independent government agency of the District of Columbia, created in 1996, led by a volunteer seven-member board. As the sole public charter school authorizer in our nation’s capital, we provide oversight to 133 public charter schools which are managed by 68 independently run nonprofit organizations called local education agencies.

The Council of Independent Colleges (CIC) is an association of 765 nonprofit independent colleges and universities, state-based councils of independent colleges, and other higher education affiliates, that works to support college and university leadership, advance institutional excellence, and enhance public understanding of independent higher education’s contributions to society. CIC offers conferences, seminars, publications, and other programs and services that help institutions improve educational quality, administrative and financial performance, student outcomes, and institutional visibility. Founded in 1956, CIC conducts the largest annual conferences of college and university presidents and of chief academic officers in the United States.

The Heights, Boston College’s independent student newspaper, is both editorially and financially independent from Boston College. The Heights serves the students, faculty, and staff of the Boston College community as well as our neighbors in Allston-Brighton.

The International Center for Not-for-Profit Law (ICNL) promotes a legal environment that strengthens civil society and advances the freedoms of association and assembly, philanthropy, and public participation around the world. Since 1992, ICNL has provided technical and research assistance in more than one hundred countries, spanning virtually every political, economic, and legal system. Mater Dei is an elementary school for boys grades 1 through 8, conducted by Catholic laymen, in Bethesda, Maryland. Mater Dei School intends to provide an accelerated yet basic Catholic education in which character development is emphasized and appreciated as much as academic accomplishments.
