Through the years, Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District has provided water service from both groundwater wells and water purchased from the City of Round Rock. The District now treats raw water from Lake Georgetown and its own groundwater wells with advanced membrane filtration technology at the District Water Facility located on Sam Bass Road. Brushy Creek Municipal Utility District's wastewater is treated by the Brushy Creek Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant owned by the cities of Round Rock, Austin, and Cedar Park. The District previously operated wastewater treatment plants located in both the North and South portions of the District. The District's parks and recreation programs and facilities have grown dramatically. A portion of the funding was provided by developer fees paid on each new lot sold.
