COMMUNITY SYSTEMS SUPPORT AND MANAGEMENT SERVICES, INC.
Pocasset, Massachusetts

Community Systems (CSI) supports persons challenged by intellectual disabilities and brain injury in their pursuit of happiness. While CSI concentrates its supports on a person's home-life, we assist individuals to develop meaningful personal interconnections, to become active participants in their community, and to advocate for their desired life-outcomes. There are multiple CSIs that operate in four states: Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, and Virginia. The CSIs have contractual relationships with the states and with local governments to support over 650 persons. The CSIs are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. CSI is challenged by similar issues that confront all agencies that work for persons with disabilities as well as the challenges faced by any mid-size company with a work force of nearly 1200. Despite these, CSI is fortunate to enjoy many many stories of success in which people are able to realize their dreams while often surpassing the expectations that others have had for them. The Mission of Community Systems is to help persons with disabilities to find happiness in their own homes, in their personal relationships, and as contributing members of their community. CSI seeks persons who will embrace this mission to serve on its Board, particularly from those states listed. In addition, CSI is most interested in persons with a background or an interest in the field of intellectual or developmental disabilities and with brain injury, or with experience in clinical, legal, business, and fundraising areas.
