WNCCHS is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides medical, dental, and behavioral health services to approximately 15,000 patients in Western North Carolina. We are a private, non-profit organization with locations in Buncombe and McDowell counties, as well as a traveling mobile clinic. WNCCHS offers sliding fee scale discounts for all patients and our 340B Pharmacy gives them access to discounted pharmacy services. As a FQHC, WNCCHS maintains a patient-majority Board of Directors that reflects the people we serve — ensuring that our organization and the care we provide are directly impacted by real patients and members of our community. WNCCHS helps address social determinants of health through a variety of programs. We are the only FQHC NCDHHS Healthy Opportunities network provider in the region. WNCCHS is also the only FQHC in the region with a Medical Legal Partnership, which addresses patients’ health harming legal needs. WNCCHS provides HIV services to an 18-county service area of Western North Carolina through the Ryan White Program, serving approximately 800 patients.
