Tom Peterson had been working in the HVAC industry for 14 years when he was asked, “Why don’t you build this in your garage?” This was the spark that ignited his and his wife Sue’s faith and passion to start Concepts and Designs, Inc. (CDI) in their home in 1991. Today CDI is a thriving company of over 200 employees. Hiniker designs and manufactures agricultural, snow and water purification equipment, sold under the Coster Engineering brand name. Founded in 1970, Hiniker is known for high quality, long-lasting products that help seed and feed the world, clear surfaces for safe passage, and provide clean drinking water. Headquartered in Mankato, Minnesota, Hiniker fabricates and assembles its products in its vertically integrated 360,000-sq.-ft. manufacturing facility. Later that year they merged their Coster Engineering business with Hiniker and created the Coster branded line of Water Purification products. Our Coster products are the number one source for water purification equipment, specializing in reverse osmosis systems and water vending machines. Our machines are used throughout the world. In 1995, Hiniker branched into designing and manufacturing snow removal equipment which developed into a line of snowplows, skid steer plows, and spreaders.
