GREATER NEW ORLEANS FEDERAL CREDIT UNION
GREATER NEW ORLEANS FEDERAL CREDIT UNION
Metairie, Louisiana
25-49 employees
ABOUT US: Originally chartered in 1935, GNO was organized by employees of the New Orleans Bell Telephone Employees Federal Credit Union. Their goal, as was the goal of all company credit unions, was to provide a safe haven for their employees to save and then borrow from that pool of savings to achieve their dreams in life. Now, flash forward – 81 years ahead to today! While a whole lot has changed in the financial world, some things still remain the same at GNO and that is our mission to continue to provide our members with the safest and most secure avenue to save and borrow – simply to give our members Better Banking. Our vision of Building Relationships; Delivering Dreams is our philosophy and our promise to each and every member. ABOUT YOU: Because credit unions are financial cooperatives, as a GNO member, you literally own and operate this credit union. Can you say that you are an owner of any other traditional banking outlet? We didn't think so and that's because member ownership is a powerful and unique feature of credit unions. Your share in GNO is equal to every other member's share, making your investment in the future of our credit union, an investment in the future of 1,000s of other members. And, just so you know . . . we love working for each and every one of our owners! Today, GNO is a full service financial institution reaching assets of $108 million serving over 17,000 members. Our membership is still comprised of our original field of membership – the communications industry – as well as additional business partner companies and open to all those who live, work, worship and attend school in Orleans Parish. Your deposits are federally insured to at least $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration.

ASCENSION CREDIT UNION
ASCENSION CREDIT UNION
Gonzales, Louisiana
25-49 employees
Ascension Credit Union is a not-for-profit, full-service financial institution, offering a wide range of services to members. Structured as a financial cooperative, the credit union is owned and operated entirely by its membership, or by the people that have accounts with us. Ascension Credit Union is the ONLY Credit Union that is home based in Ascension Parish, with it's focus on serving residents who reside in Ascension Parish. Ascension Credit Union was chartered on March 12, 1974 as Ascension School Employees Credit Union to serve employees of the Ascension Parish School Board and served members from a closet in East Ascension High School. Due to dedicated and supporting members, in February 1977, we opened our doors to a little office on the second floor of the Bank of Gonzales. In August of 1986, with 3.4 million in assets, Ascension Credit Union moved to 2430 S. Burnside Ave. With a new drive-thru window, quick personalized service, and convenient hours we thrived. On November 17, 1992, we built our building to accommodate future growth, and that is our main office. Today, just like the parish population, Ascension Credit Union is growing and we are determined to uphold our original ideals. Our approach reaches beyond providing convenient products, excellent services, and individualized solutions. We empower our staff by encouraging creative thinking to create a spirit of pride, so we can be innovative when assisting our members. This philosophy is what helps us assist you in making a brighter financial future.
