Working Families' Friend is a not-for-profit agency providing assistance to our working community. Our mission is to gather community resources in order to enable employed and recently unemployed individuals to sustain and maintain quality of life through assistance, training, advocacy, and financial support.

The CGSC Foundation supports the Soldiers, families, staff, and faculty of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. The CGSC Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (C)(3) tax-exempt, non-profit educational foundation that provides resources and support to the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC) in the development of tomorrow’s military leaders. The CGSCF helps to advance the profession of military art and science by promoting the welfare and enhancing the prestigious educational programs of the CGSC. Our Vision The CGSC Foundation’s vision is to become a supporting organization that is widely recognized as the national leader in membership, programs, innovation, and support to the US Army Command and General Staff College to advance its core mission of educating leaders for the challenges of the 21st century. Our Mission The mission of the CGSC Foundation is to: • Enrich the College’s academic environment • Foster a strong relationship between the military and the private sector • Enhance the institution’s research activities • Promote leader development • Encourage excellence in the faculty and student body • Maintain contact with alumni The Foundation supports the College’s many areas of focus by providing financial and research support for symposia, conferences, and lectures, as well as funding and organizing community outreach activities that help connect the American public to their Army. The CGSC Foundation is funded through private donations and its board of trustees is staffed with distinguished retired military leaders, business executives, community leaders and others who are focused on providing the margin of excellence to the educational programs of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

Mission: We engage youth in team-based service experiences that build life and work skills while inspiring a lifetime ethic of service. Four Fundamental Goals: 1. Engage young people in service projects that are challenging, rewarding, and educational. 2. Serve the unmet needs of communities and their residents. 3. Promote among young people a greater understanding and appreciation for the diversity of their community. 4. Promote a lifetime ethic of service among young people. First launched in 1987 in Kansas City, MO, YVC programming has grown to include dozens of communities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Programs are hosted locally by diverse community-based organizations such as volunteer centers, Hands-On, YMCA, Boys and Girls Clubs, United Way, City Parks & Recreation departments, and school districts. Funding is provided by foundations, corporations, individuals, United Ways, and local and federal governments. To date, we have supported and inspired over 300,000 youth, who have completed over 4.5 million hours of service.

~VISTA ("Volunteer(s) In Service To America"​) is a branch of AmeriCorps' national service program focused on building the capacity of organizations dedicated to fighting poverty.~Wrote and edited individual VISTA assignment descriptions to align with grant requirements, ensuring funding and placement approvalRecruited high-quality candidates for a year of national service to fill 18 rotating positionsProvided individual coaching to service members, regularly assessing progress toward project objectives and recommending resources to support members’ personal and professional goalsOrganized monthly professional development sessions for Kansas City AmeriCorps members, procuring guest speakers and a $6,000 sponsor, with an average attendance rate of 35 membersTrained and managed relationships with 9 partner organizations hosting grant-funded service members, ensuring understanding and adherence to VISTA program regulationsFounded the Kansas City AmeriCorps Alliance, hosting 29 organizations which share resources and ideas to further AmeriCorps member development

The Clay County Economic Development Council is a partnership of the private and public sectors aimed at the overall economic development of Clay County, Missouri. A non-profit organization, our mission is to maximize economic well-being and opportunity throughout the county. The EDC facilitates a number of important initiatives. From small business loans through Midwest Small Business Finance to international trade, education and workforce programs, the EDC and its members constantly seek to make Clay County a better place to live and do business. Collaborating with other area organizations, the EDC also promotes activities to enhance local quality of life and support other organizations in these efforts.
