Evansville Surgical Associates was founded in 1969 when three surgeons combined their practices to form one surgical group. Since that time, the practice has expanded to include 23 surgeons, with offices in nine locations, making it the largest general surgery practice in the Tri-State area. Vascular Surgical Associates, our vascular affiliate, is also the largest vascular practice in the region. ESA surgeons are all certified by the American Board of Surgery, and a number of surgeons also have subspecialty training and certification in Vascular Surgery, Trauma/Critical Care, and Minimally Invasive Surgery. Surgeons at ESA have served leadership roles locally and statewide. Many surgeons have served as Presidents of the hospital Medical Staffs and as Chairman of the Surgery Departments. Several surgeons have served as President of the Indiana Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, President of the Vanderburgh County Medical Association, and President of the Indiana State Medical Association. Ireland Home Based Services has worked in the counties of Southern Indiana providing quality home-based services for over 25 years. IHBS began providing Home Based Services with only four employees. Since then, significant growth has occurred allowing services to be delivered to a greater number of children and families throughout Southern Indiana. IHBS currently offers services to children and families involved with the Department of Child Services and Probation, prevention services through the Community Partners for Child Safety program, intensive home-based services through the HOMEBUILDERS program, services to fathers through the Fatherhood Engagement Initiative, as well as behavior support services through the Medicaid Waiver programs.
