The Center for Youth and Family Solutions provides strengths-based, family-centered, trauma-informed social services to individuals and families who have experienced life-changing trauma, abuse and neglect, and other life challenges . Our six core programs provide the necessary tools to help children, families and individuals cope, heal and thrive. Services include Adoption, Foster Care and Intact Family Services, Counseling, Guardian Angel Home Residential Center, New Day Senior Services and Youth, Family and Community Outreach Services. Headquartered in Peoria, we service 20,000 children and families in need across 37 counties throughout Central Illinois.

Community Workshop & Training Center Inc., a not-for-profit organization, provides programs and services to adults with disabilities. Our organization offers services in three areas: community services, employment services, and community integration.

What We Do We have been serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families since 1950 and continue to offer the highest standard of support and care. EP!C is committed to helping individuals with disabilities at all levels to achieve their goals and live their lives to the fullest. We offer a range of programs and services to provide EP!C individuals with the educational, residential, employment, and care taking resources they need. By empowering our participants to live their best life, we enrich their lives, the lives of their family members, and larger Central Illinois community. Educational Services: Participants have the opportunity to engage in sensory learning, adult life skills education, work skill acquisition, gardening, and computer activities. We also offer unique extracurricular activities and clubs, including art, dance, fitness, radio, volunteer, cooking, music, and more. Community Living Services: Participants have multiple accommodation options with EP!C. They may choose to live in group homes of varying sizes with around-the-clock care, be more independent in an apartment setting, or be matched with a host family. Employment Services: EP!C offers a variety of employment opportunities through community and organizational employment to meet the abilities and needs of our participants. We also provide job and work skills training in preparation for employment, continuing job coaching during employment as needed.

The Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 created the federal Office of Economic Opportunity.  In February 1966, the Peoria Citizens Committee for Economic Opportunity, Inc. (PCCEO) became the official agency authorized by the federal government to administer and operate “Community Action Programs” (CAPs) in Peoria. 

Our mission is to help all people - women, men, and children - to live free from violence and abuse. The Center for Prevention of Abuse (CFPA) is the only agency in the state of Illinois to provide combined, comprehensive free and confidential services to women, men and children, of all ages, who have been affected by domestic violence, sexual assault/abuse, human trafficking, or elder abuse. CFPA also provides Adult Protective Services to disabled individuals, between the ages of 18-59, who have been affected by abuse. Additionally, CFPA provides school based prevention education to nearly 36,000 students annually, with programs on body safety, anti-bullying, conflict resolution, and healthy relationships. CFPA has two domestic violence shelters in Peoria and Pekin, offices in the Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford County Courthouses to assist with Orders of Protection and facilitates an abuser re-education classes are offered in another Peoria office. Medical advocates are available 24/7 to respond to victims of sexual assault and/or domestic violence who obtain medical treatment in the emergency departments of area hospitals. Annually, CFPA serves more than 5,000 individuals seeking peace.

Crittenton Centers has been serving Peoria and all of central Illinois since 1892. Originally conceived as a maternity home for unwed mothers, the agency has evolved into a multi-service, multi-million dollar not-for-profit (501c3) child welfare organization. Currently, our three core services include the Crisis Nursery (emergency and respite care for infants and children ages birth to 6 years), the Child Development Center (preschool and daycare for infants and children ages 6 weeks to 6 years) and Educational and Support Services. Crittenton Centers’ mission is to protect and nurture children and families.

Western Illinois Regional Council (WIRC) partners with people and communities to improve lives and neighborhoods. The agency is based in Macomb, Illinois, but their services and programs extend throughout multiple western Illinois counties.

Young House Family Services began in 1971 as a faith project responding to the needs of troubled children and families. Today the agency has facilities in Burlington, Mt. Pleasant and Fairfield, and provides a wide range of counseling and behavioral health services to over 4,000 children and families every year throughout Southeast Iowa.
