The Washington State Investment Board (WSIB) manages investments for retirement plans including public employees, teachers, school employees, law enforcement officers, firefighters and judges. We also manage investments for several other important public funds that benefit Washington’s industrial insurance program, colleges and universities, and developmental disability programs. The WSIB’s excellent investment performance dramatically contributes to the state’s bottom line by earning the lion’s share of money needed to cover state pension benefits. The WSIB is organized much like most investment management organizations, with a board and executive committee providing enterprise leadership. Distinct teams provide investment management, research and asset allocation, financial accounting and administration, legal services, and risk oversight. The Investment team is comprised of investment professionals who manage the WSIB’s major asset classes, including public equity, private equity, real estate, tangible assets, and fixed income. The Operations team provides comprehensive support of the investment and administrative functions, including legal services, investment accounting, trade settlement, cash management, and close monitoring of investment transactions, and operational compliance. The Institutional Relations team manages external stakeholder relations, corporate governance, public affairs, media inquiries, and communications such as regular performance reports, annual reports, and web site content.

Robert Graham purchased our first semi tractor in 1983 and shortly after formed the company Graham Trucking, Inc. He purchased a second truck, then a third, until we had grown to about a dozen trucks. Based at that time at Port of Seattle Terminal 115 South, our main business was barge lines doing business between Washington and Alaska. The company is now based just south of the Seatac airport on 188th and has truck and trailer yards along the I-5 corridor. We operate over 100 power units and own one of the largest super chassis fleets on the west coast. While Graham Trucking continues to service the Alaska barge trade, we have expanded our service to include international freight, construction trade, retail supply, distribution, and others. Our customers are construction companies, retail chains, freight forwarders, steamship lines, seafood companies, consolidators, logistics companies, produce suppliers, and many others. Starting Out Red Truck Polaroid Rob Graham President’s Message: GTI President Over 3 decades ago, with one truck and one driver, we set out to build a company that we could truly be proud of, not only the ownership, but all employees, and customers as well. Our goal was to provide a service unparalleled in our industry, and to provide an environment where our people could learn and grow. According to industry surveys, we have achieved our goal. These surveys indicate that Graham Trucking is one of the most well regarded trucking companies in the state by customers and employees alike. We will continue our efforts for improvement so that we remain a company that you can be proud of.
