The Virginia Tech Foundation, Inc. (VTF) oversees Virginia Tech's endowment, real estate portfolio and Corporate Research Center. The mission of the National Student Clearinghouse is to serve the education and workforce communities and all learners with access to trusted data, related services, and insights. We help educational institutions improve efficiency, reduce costs and workload, and enhance the quality of services they provide to their students and alumni, lending institutions, employers, and other organizations. Our verification, electronic exchange, and reporting services save higher education institutions cumulatively over $750 million annually. Most Clearinghouse services are provided to colleges and universities at little or no charge, including enhanced transcript and research services, enabling institutions to redistribute limited staff and budget resources to more important student service efforts. The Clearinghouse also provides thousands of high schools and districts with continuing collegiate enrollment, progression, and completion statistics on their alumni. Through our Research Center, the Clearinghouse provides accurate information and research studies to education leaders on how student pathways are evolving so they can better understand and address their students’ needs and help them achieve successful outcomes. Clearinghouse services are designed to facilitate an institution’s compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, The Higher Education Act, and other applicable laws. The Clearinghouse has signed the Student Privacy Pledge and is the first recipient of ikeepsafe.org’s FERPA compliance badge, which was awarded to its StudentTracker for High Schools service.

National Training Network (NTN) is a professional development company specializing in training, on-going coaching, and support to mathematics teachers of emerging learners in grade 3 through algebra. NTN utilizes its “Seven Levels of Professional Development” to help teachers acquire proven methodologies and develop and deepen students’ understanding of essential mathematics concepts, as well as the understanding and infusion of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). The mission of NTN is to raise the achievement, confidence and grades of formerly lower performing students in mathematics by changing the instructional methodology by digging deeper into the “why” and the instructional materials used in mathematics classrooms in the districts we serve. A team of NTN staff partner with a team of Local Education Agency staff to create a comprehensive resilient plan emphasizing the integration of the CCSS – Standards for Mathematical Practice to improve mathematics instruction. On-going professional development is provided through training, concept-based lessons, job-embedded coaching, instructional walk-throughs, professional learning communities, technology, and leadership academies. Parent Revolution is a dynamic and growing non-profit organization. Our goal is to fundamentally shift the landscape of public education in America by empowering parents, through organizing and collective action, to impact their child’s educational destiny. We believe transformative change is possible when kids are put first and that organized, empowered parents are the key to putting kids first. In its brief history, Parent Revolution has garnered national attention for its groundbreaking work in conceiving of, passing, and implementing California’s landmark Parent Trigger law. The law provides parents, for the first time ever, real power to transform their child’s failing school. Our work has been featured in nearly every national media outlet and now serves as the national model for parent empowerment. Numerous states have now passed their own Parent Trigger laws, with dozens of other states considering the same. In multiple Southern California schools, we have helped parents use the law to successfully organize their communities and implement transformative changes at their schools. Our work is not done until every child in America has an opportunity for a great education. We take our children as they come: all children deserve great educational opportunities despite race, zip code, class, nationality, and family/community hardships. In the last two years, our organization has more than quadrupled in size and is continuing a trajectory of rapid growth, due in large part to our successful track record. The Institute for Advanced Learning and Research (IALR) serves as a regional catalyst for economic transformation. Core focus areas include research that provides a clear path to commercialization, advanced learning opportunities where education meets experience, and economic development through conferencing and a partnership with the Southern Virginia Regional Alliance.
