Salamatof Native Association Inc. (SNAI)
SNAI is a Native Corporation formed under the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 (ANCSA). It is governed by an experienced board of directors and management staff, who are accountable to shareholders. The majority of the 129 original shareholders of the corporation reside in the Kenai Peninsula. The corporate office and headquarters are located in Kenai, Alaska.
SNAI is the parent company to a broad variety of subsidiary businesses like Teya Services. SNAI also sells and develops land. The company owns many acres of land, primarily near Kenai Alaska. The Village of Salamatof was a recognized location prior to the 1850's. It was originally spelled "Salamatowa," which was the surname of a Russian officer on one of the exploring expeditions sent to study Alaska.
