The Corparation should hold management accountable for wrongfully placing people on the Do not rehire! I put in my Two weeks notice and finished out my two weeks at one of there facilities. I applied to another facility through Athena and they told me that I was placed on the Do Not Return list. This is an ongoing thing with these people. I have a right to do the right thing and put in my two weeks if I feel a job is not the right fit for me. Right? This has happened to me previously and to many others. Luckily I had my two weeks notice copy because the facility told corporate that I didn’t finish out my two weeks and I was able to work. This Corparation is not a good environment to work for. They do everything out of spite. Hopefully, they will treat there employees better and I wish them the best.
The worst agency ever. Agreed to a contract of 9hrs per week for 6 days a week. They charged me for 28 hr bc the aids were clueless to how to take care of a bedridden person. Not my fault! But got charged bc it took them 3-4 hrs instead of the 1-2 we agreed on. Every time I called them they screen there calls and would ignore me till it suits them to call back. A few times they sent out no one to take care of my mom. If your short staffed don’t take on clients just so you can make a quick buck!! I do not recommend them one bit. The director comes off as nice and sweet and helpful and then later on rude and wouldn’t admit she broke the contract! Said if I didn’t pay it they send it to collections. Never put your loved one in the hands of these people, either they will be hurt or neglected or even found deceased!! Horrible service
I’ve worked for Athena for a while now and the staffing is terrible! not sure if all facilities are like this but the one I worked for would have 1 aide on the floor taking care of 60 patients by themselves or 2 aides splitting 30 residents a piece, what made me quit was how it became normal for 1 aide to do the work of 8, nothing has changed for the passed 2 months and it’s not fair to the residents or staff!!
I have worked for Athena for over 4 years and it has been a great experience. While the emphasis is always on quality care, Athena never loses sight of the importance of the staff. The owners make sure that the facilities are well maintained and always give us what we need to accomplish our jobs.
Excellent company to work for!!! They not only care about the residents but they care about their staff. Monthly Employee appreciation events and an annual charity event are just a couple examples of how Athena shows its appreciation to its dedicated and compassionate team!
