We advocate for strong federal nutrition programs including FoodShare, school meals, summer meals, WIC and senior nutrition programs Milwaukee is the second poorest city in the country, with a staggering 43% child poverty rate. Each month in Milwaukee County, 35,000 people receive help from food pantries and 60,000 meals are served at soup kitchens and shelters.
