MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION OF NORTH TEXAS
MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION OF NORTH TEXAS
Addison, Texas
11-50 employees
Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted hundreds of thousands of transformative wish experiences worldwide. Our organization’s vision is to grant the heartfelt wish of every eligible child battling critical illness. Here across North Texas, we are working to make this a reality in the 161 counties we serve. Wishes are catalysts for hope -- profoundly effective in fueling a child’s drive to defy the odds and push toward tomorrow. Medical research reveals physical and emotional benefits that can give children with critical illnesses a higher chance of survival. When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. Families are unified and entire communities are enriched -- the positive impact is boundless. Right now, wishes are waiting! Across our chapter, referrals are at an all-time high and funding determines the rate at which we are able to grant wishes. Your gift of time or money is crucial to close the gap between the number of wishes Make-A-Wish is able to grant and the number we need to grant. It is because of generous donors, dedicated volunteers and valuable partners in the medical community that each wish becomes a reality. Every eligible child needs a wish to count on!

YOUTH 180, INC.
YOUTH 180, INC.
Dallas, Texas
11-50 employees
Youth180, formerly Dallas Challenge, has a 39-year history of providing quality prevention, intervention and treatment programs. We approach the struggles of our youth and families from a holistic, trauma-focused perspective. Our team recognizes the intersection of substance use with family dynamics, mental health, homelessness, victims of abuse and trafficking, and many other life experiences. We believe substance use, along with behavioral and mental health issues, are not choices, but rather underlying responses to a larger underlying concern: TRAUMA. Trauma affects individuals from all walks of life. Its effects vary from person to person and can have lasting generational impact. The good news is that trauma is very treatable! OUR PROGRAMS: PREVENTION: Our Certified Prevention Specialists provide free prevention curriculum at our North Oak Cliff Center as well as in local schools, recreation centers, housing authorities and other agencies. Our Prevention Program educates youth and parents on coping, decision-making, and problem-solving skills as well as the risks associated with substance use. INTERVENTION AND EDUCATION: Youth180 recognizes the struggles faced by many youth and their families. Through our Intervention and Education Program, we are committed to supporting the whole family as they work to address any dynamics in their home. We accomplish this by educating youth and their parent(s) on how to conquer conflict, address behavioral issues and truancy, communicate effectively and set goals. Classes are available in multiple locations every month. COUNSELING & OUTPATIENT TREATMENT Youth180 provides an evidence-based, integrative approach to trauma-centered counseling and outpatient substance use treatment. Our program is specialized to fit the needs and strengths of all by providing the foundation for processing and healing from trauma.
