Wave was originally established in 1938 as the Narragansett Electric Employee's Federal Credit Union. In 2003 we merged with Hasbro Employee's Federal Credit Union and in 2008 merged with Anchor Federal Credit Union, formerly Warwick Municipal Employee's Federal Credit Union. Then in 2011, we merged with Cottrell Federal Credit Union headquartered in Westerly, RI. Wave today is a financially strong, community-chartered institution with almost 7,000 members, $118 million in assets, a commitment to personal service and some of the most attractive rates anywhere. We offer the complete range of products including online/mobile banking, personal financial advising, and surcharge-free ATM access, as well as mortgage/equity products, and auto loans. CEDF is a non-profit lender serving businesses across Connecticut that cannot obtain traditional commercial bank funding. An independent organization – originally chartered in 1994 by the state legislature – CEDF exists to improve the fortunes of communities and entrepreneurs by providing loans, education and guidance. We are Connecticut's top SBA Microlender, and we also offer business term loans, lines of credit and commercial mortgages at very nominal interest rates from a pool of capital provided by many of the state's leading banks. There are geographic and/or income qualification requirements for our borrowers. It is all described at cedf.com. Each borrower is assigned a business advisor who serves as a liaison to the organization, and as coach and consultant to help improve the results for client businesses while monitoring performance to reduce risk to CEDF. Our educational programs are designed to curate and emphasize success skills for both new enterprises and existing small businesses owners. These seminars, workshops and digital offerings are available to the public. CEDF also provides grants for community-based economic development projects that stabilize and enhance neighborhoods.
