DYKES LUMBER COMPANY INC.
DYKES LUMBER COMPANY INC.
Weehawken, New Jersey
51-200 employees
Dykes Lumber Company was founded in 1909 in Manhattan, NY by Andrew H. Dykes. The first store was located at 137 West 24th Street in Manhattan. A second store opened in 1912 at 348 West 44th Street. Over the next 30 years, Dykes Lumber experienced tremendous growth. By 1940 there were eleven yards in operation. In December of 1944, Andrew Dykes passed away and leadership of the Company was passed to Frank Homan, who was later succeeded by Louis Kreyer Sr. By 1963, there were fifteen yards in operation. At that time all the employee owners had reached retirement age and decided to sell the company, it was purchased by the Berwind Corporation. Dykes continued to grow and reached a total of 19 locations. However, in the late 60’s and early 70’s the economy turned, stores were closed and properties sold and by 1972 Dykes was down to four locations. In 1973 under the leadership of Lou Kreyer Jr., several key employees joined together and purchased the company back from the Berwind Corporation and acquired two new locations. In 1995, Lou Kreyer, Jr., retired and leadership was passed to his son, Charles Kreyer. Since then we acquired five new locations and closed two bringing us to a total of nine. Today, Dykes Lumber looks to the future with an eye toward steady, managed growth. We look forward to providing our customers with the same quality materials, excellent service and integrity they have come to expect.

Telford, Pennsylvania
51-200 employees
ALDERFER GLASS CO. is committed to quality, service, value and honesty to all. We are dedicated to providing the very best products in the glass industry and to serve the greater community dependably. Our organization believes in faith, friendship and family, and will strive to strengthen all three in our employees, customers and business peers. We always seek to cultivate trust and reputation in all business relationships, both large and small. ALDERFER GLASS CO was founded in 1961 by brothers Stan and Robert Alderfer. Originally located on Penn Avenue in Telford, PA, the business started as a family-owned flat glass shop serving the needs of the local community. With Stan working long hours at the shop and Bob retaining his job as a local milkman, Alderfer Glass became a recognized name in the community. As business grew, Bob worked full-time with Stan, a shop was built on the current site at 144 Telford Pike, and employees were added. This “home” shop was expanded many times thereafter to serve the growing needs of Southeastern Pennsylvania. In subsequent years locations were added in Lansdale, Limerick, Quakertown and Lehigh Valley to better serve the demands of the greater Delaware Valley and Lehigh Valley area(s). ALDERFER GLASS CO is still family owned and integrates two generations of the Alderfer family. Quality, service, value and honesty are the benchmarks of the Alderfer name and will continue as the business moves further into the 21st century. By integrating family and faith, community and business, we have served the glass needs of the local area since 1961. We currently serve the retail, auto, residential and commercial aspects of the glass industry, taking pride in providing only the very best in product and service to our field. There is a difference, and we can show you why! Contact us to see how we can bring quality and satisfaction to your next glass project.
