o Manage and administer the Tribal Water Program
o Provide technical support to Tribal government
o Manage grant funding, grant writing, and complete reporting requirements
o Coordinate with federal, state, tribal and local stakeholders on region-wide water related issues
o Represent PIIC and establish a tribal presence in regional and national water organizations
o Collect surface water quality samples from lakes, rivers and wetlands surrounding Tribal land for +13 water quality parameters
o Conduct aquatic plant survey in surrounding waters, following AHQI methods
o Develop and implement a biological monitoring program
o Update Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP) as necessary
o Complete invasive species surveys and descriptions of area aquatic resources.
o Perform habitat restoration of Wild Rice in the backwaters
o Calibrate and maintain sampling equipment, including a Hydrolab MS5 Sonde.
o Coordinate with three departments in utilizing ArcGIS desktop and online software to keep electronic records and maps current.
o Enter data into the PIIC Environmental Database and EPA STORET database
o Maintain a clean and safe laboratory for performing analytical procedures, including processing Fecal Coliform samples with IDEXX equipment
o Increased public outreach/educational activities from one event annually to six annual events.
o Serve as the lead organizer for PIIC Green Team, accomplishing sustainable living projects around the community such as neighborhood composting and recycling.
o Other duties as assigned
