Futures Without Violence (FUTURES) is a national nonprofit organization leading groundbreaking educational programs, policies, and campaigns that empower individuals and organizations working to end violence against women and children around the world. Providing leadership from offices in San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Boston, FUTURES has trained thousands of professionals and advocates--such as doctors, nurses, judges, athletic coaches, and other community influences--on improving responses to violence and abuse. The San Francisco Estuary Institute (SFEI-ASC) is one of California’s premier environmental science organizations. Our mission: provide scientific support and tools for planning, designing, and decision-making. We conduct independent research to assess and improve the health of the waters, wetlands, wildlife and landscapes of San Francisco Bay, California, and beyond. Our skilled scientists and technology experts provide data and tools that empower government, community, and industry to implement cost-effective solutions for complex environmental challenges. We have three primary programs – Clean Water, Resilient Landscapes, and Environmental Informatics – that together bridge the divide between decline and adaptation.

At Marin Humane, we transform lives. It might be a small transformation, like a family that adopts its first four-legged friend. Or it could be big — like a child with autism coming out of his shell after participating in our Jumping for Joy program or a frightened dog who learns to trust people again after a life of neglect. We shelter animals in need, healing them when they’re sick and finding forever homes when they’re ready. We help more than 10,000 domestic animals and wildlife each year through rescue, adoptions, foster care, behavior and training, humane education, pet assistance for people in need, lost-and-found pet services, low-cost clinics, and more. We’re also responsible for 24/7 animal protection and rescue in Marin County, California. This means we are responsible for upholding county and municipal animal services ordinances through a decades-long contract with the County. Our Animal Services Officers stop abuse and neglect, reunite lost pets with their worried families, and rescue injured wildlife. A 2008 grand jury report praised Marin Humane’s dual role as animal services and nonprofit animal shelter. The report concluded that Marin Humane “is an important community asset, and the citizens, pets, and wildlife of Marin are better off for it.” We’re a local, independent organization and not a chapter or affiliate of any national organization. Civic Ventures is a small group of political troublemakers devoted to ideas, policies, and actions that catalyze significant social change. At Making Waves, we are committed to educational equity. Making Waves Education Foundation is a Bay Area nonprofit that supports Making Waves Academy – a public charter school with more than 1,100 5th through 12th grade students – and leads college and career programming with more than 500 college students.​ ​ Knowing the opportunities that come with a college degree, we partner with historically underrepresented and underserved students to help make college affordable and graduation attainable. Centering the journeys of our students, our personalized approach includes college and career coaching, scholarships, and financial planning.​ ​ Our alumni network includes more than 600 college graduates, who earn their degrees and land jobs at more than twice the rate of their first-generation, low-income peers, with 84% graduating debt-free.

Since 1993, the Pacific Forest Trust (PFT) has been dedicated to conserving and sustaining America’s vital, productive forest landscapes. Working with forest owners, communities, and an array of partners, we advance innovative, incentive-based strategies to safeguard our nation’s diverse forests. In so doing, we’re ensuring forests continue to provide people everywhere — from rural communities to urban centers — with a wealth of benefits, including clean water, sustainably harvested wood, green jobs, wildlife habitat, and a livable climate.

Founded in 1979 by attorneys active in shaping the emerging field of animal law, the Animal Legal Defense Fund blazes the trail for stronger enforcement of anti-cruelty laws and more humane treatment of animals in every corner of American life. The Animal Legal Defense Fund is the nation’s preeminent legal advocacy organization for animals. The organization's mission is to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system. To accomplish this mission, the Animal Legal Defense Fund files high-impact lawsuits to protect animals from harm, provides free legal assistance and training to prosecutors, supports tough animal protection legislation and fights harmful legislation, and provides resources and opportunities to law students and professionals to advance the emerging field of animal law. Sonoma Land Trust conserves scenic, natural, agricultural and open land for the future of Sonoma County by: -Developing long term land protection strategies, -Promoting private and public funding for land conservation, -Acquiring land and conservation easements, -Practicing stewardship, including the restoration of conservation properties, and -Promoting a sense of place and a land ethic through activities, education and outreach. Sonoma Land Trust is a local, nonprofit organization funded largely by membership contributions. The Land Trust works closely with private landowners, the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District, and other public agencies at all levels of government, nonprofit partners and foundations.
