Lyngso was founded in the early 1950’s by John and Mary Lyngso. To this day, our company remains a family-run business. Many of our employees have been with us for over 20 years; all are passionate about providing the best possible service. Our site in San Carlos contains everything from sands, pebbles and boulders to tools and soil mixes. Lyngso has the materials and expertise to satisfy the largest contractor as well as the personal approach to guide the homeowner on his/her first landscaping project. In 1945 Emilia and Walter Arends Sr. started O.K. Lumber Company on the property now known as 'Lucky's market parking lot'​. The acreage at that time went from Old County Road to Highway 101 and from American Street to Brittan Avenue. The business was founded in hopes of having a small, family owned and operated business. It has been successful and today it is still run by Emilia and Walter's children and grandchildren. In 1964, Walter Arends Jr. and brother Robert purchased the business from their parents. They still operate it with the assistance of Walter's son, Eric, and Robert's son, Ken.
