Training Minds. Improving Hearts. LCCA is a public (tuition-free) charter school serving Kindergarten through 9th grade students. We will add 10th grade in the fall of 2022. LCCA is a great option for families who prefer a content-rich curriculum in the liberal arts and sciences with a focus on character development and a teacher-led learning environment. LCCA is an affiliate school of the Barney Charter School Initiative (BCSI), an outreach of Hillsdale College. The BCSI team is assisting LCCA in creating and implementing challenging, engaging academic programs, as well as providing teacher training that will serve as the foundation for a liberal and civic education. This classical curriculum emphasizes the core disciplines of math, science, history, and language arts, including phonics and writing, with significant attention to music, art, and foreign language. Each of these disciplines is taught with an emphasis on the history and traditions of American citizens as the inheritors of Western civilization. The BCSI learning model has already seen substantial success throughout the United States, with 20 affiliate schools currently serving more than 11,000 students across the country. LCCA is the first BCSI affiliate school in Wisconsin, and the first K-12 public classical charter school in the state.

The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) is a not-for-profit education foundation, Affiliated with the University of Florida, created to help address the critical workforce shortage facing the construction industry and to develop industry-driven standardized craft training programs with portable credentials. NCCER's mission is to build a safe, productive, and sustainable workforce of craft professionals.

During my six years on the School Board I served on the Finance and Building, Grounds & Transportation Committees. I served my final two years as Chair of Building & Grounds. I was also Chair of the Building Expansion Committee during the initial phases of our Expansion Project. As the project progressed, I stepped away from the Chair and continued on the Committee, serving as the Spokesman for the project. As Spokesman I presented the project to various groups including two major presentations to the School Society.

Wisconsin Swim Academy is a US Swim School Association member Swim Academy, dedicated to delivering safe swim instruction and water safety to people of all ages, with a specialty in kids aged 6 months to 12 years. Our philosophy is to take a loving, gentle approach with our teaching by earning your child’s trust and building their confidence so they can become smart, strong swimmers thus giving you peace of mind. You may know us as Fox Cities Swim Academy, a Professional Swim School owned and operated by Susie Van Ekeren. Based on several factors and opportunities, we are changing the name to Wisconsin Swim Academy. The Academy has been operating as a business entity since 2010, and will continue to operate as it always has, with individualized instruction plans and positive teaching styles. This change is no more than a name change. All lessons are 3 students/1 teacher. Confidence and Self-Esteem building is a priority, as confident swimmers are safe swimmers.
