As a community bank we provide a wide variety of financial services, but delivered in a personalized manner only small banks can offer. Apple River State Bank was chartered in 1948 and opened in Apple River, Illinois which still remains a locally owned financial institution. As Apple River State Bank evaluated the local markets, it concluded that branches located in the expanding communities of Jo Daviess County was a means of enhancing its long-term opportunities and offering true community banking services. As a result, Apple River State Bank has opened full-service branches in Elizabeth, Galena, Hanover, Scales Mound and Warren, Illinois as well as over 25 ATM's throughout Jo Daviess County. The Apple River State Bank has embraced a philosophy that places customer needs and service above everything else. The Bank's pricing of its services reflects that emphasis by its consistent policy of competitive fees on all deposit and loan products. In addition, the Bank offers trust, investment, and long-term fixed mortgages to better serve our local market. Finally, the Bank is committed to maintaining a strong financial presence in our market. At a time when the financial services industry continues to consolidate and "lose the customer in the shuffle", we've tried to never forget that a bank has the responsibility to make its decisions not just with the bank's interests in mind, but the interests of our customers. It is the mission of the Apple River State Bank to operate as an independent, locally owned and customer responsive bank. We will strive to make our decisions keeping in mind the best interest of: •Our Community •Our Shareholders •Our Customers •Our Employees

KERNDT BROTHERS SAVINGS BANK
KERNDT BROTHERS SAVINGS BANK
Lansing, Iowa
50-99 employees
Kerndt Brothers Bank is a community bank originated in Lansing, Allamakee County, Iowa. Lansing is located in northeast Iowa on the banks of the Mississippi River with a population of approximately 1,000. It is primarily an agriculturally driven economy with a growing trend in tourism. Kerndt Brothers Bank has been a closely held family bank since 1856. In 1979, Kerndt Bank Services, Inc., a one-bank holding company, was formed to own Kerndt Brothers Bank. In 1988, the holding company purchased an insurance agency in Lansing so that a full line of insurance services, as well as banking services, could be offered. In October, 2001, Kerndt Bank Services, Inc., purchased Farmers Savings Bank of West Union and Clermont, Iowa, thus, expanding its locations of financial services offered to nearby Fayette County. Within two years of this purchase, it became apparent that a merger of the Farmers Savings Bank with Kerndt Brothers Bank would be most advantageous to all of its bank customers. On January 1, 2009, a new location was added to our financial family. The former Family Merchants Bank of Cedar Rapids is our newest branch office. With this acquisition, we are able to offer banking services to the residents of Allamakee, Fayette, Linn, and the surrounding counties. As we continue to grow, we expand our abilities to offer up-to-date products and services while maintaining a community bank's commitment to the people we serve.
