We connect you to benefits and services you may be eligible for such as personal care, household help, housing, transportation, mental health services, and legal support. We create an individualized plan for you and coordinate your services for your long-term support at home. We help family caregivers and loved ones to cope and thrive. We refer you to Meals on Wheels and nutrition services. We connect you with volunteers when extra help is needed. We advocate for aging persons in the community and before policy makers. We work hand in hand with our partners in healthcare to coordinate your care needs. We respond to your calls Monday-Friday about any aspect of aging services. Since 1972, CVCOA has supported aging persons in Central Vermont. We are one of five Area Agencies on Aging in Vermont authorized to provide services under the federal Older Americans Act.

The Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP) is an independent, non-profit organization established to eradicate preventable blindness worldwide. We pursue this mission by delivering high-quality care, training local personnel and establishing world-class eye care infrastructure. The HCP was founded in 1995 by two intrepid ophthalmologists - Drs. Sanduk Ruit and Geoffrey Tabin - focused on eradicating unnecessary blindness due to cataracts in the Himalayan region. Today, HCP has expanded to provide eye care, infrastructure support and training for international populations in more than 16 countries throughout Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, has trained eye care personnel from more than 40 countries, and has procured equipment and supplies for programs in more than 37 countries.

Women’s Information Service, Inc. (WISE) provides crisis intervention and support services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence by empowering individuals, children and families along with our community partners to reclaim their sense of self.

For more than 22 years, CVCLT has developed and maintained safe, decent and affordable housing for Central Vermonters. We manage about 400 apartment units through our Property Management Department in Washington, Orange and Lamoille counties. CVCLT rehabs existing properties and develops single-family and mutil-family housing developments. Through our HomeOwnership Center, we offer home ownership classes, foreclosure counseling and low-interest loans for safety and energy upgrades to existing homes.

Willing Hands recovers fresh food from farms, grocery stores, restaurants and wholesalers, and delivers it year-round, for free, to 80 social service organizations across the Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire. Our work is made possible by a strong and wide network of volunteers, food donors, and recipient organizations. Together, we serve 30,000 individuals annually with 4 million servings while mitigating nearly 1 million pounds of carbon dioxide emissions from food that would have otherwise gone to waste.
