About Milford Regional Milford Regional Medical Center, Inc. is a comprehensive healthcare system that comprises the Medical Center; Milford Regional Physician Group, Inc., and Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation. The Medical Center is located at the intersection of Routes 140 and 16 in Milford, MA. A full-service, community and regional teaching hospital, Milford Regional is a 149-bed, nonprofit, acute-care facility serving a region of 20-plus towns. With over 300 primary care and specialty physicians on the medical staff, our physicians are skilled in the most advanced procedures and technology, and provide personalized patient care in a warm and caring environment. Many hold teaching appointments at New England’s finest medical schools preparing the doctors of tomorrow. Milford Regional broke ground in early 2014 on a new 78,000 square feet building (116,000 square feet with underground parking) that houses a new emergency department, intensive care unit and private patient rooms. The emergency department has increased from 30 to 52 beds and has doubled in size to nearly 30,000 square feet. The intensive care unit has grown from 4,600 to 13,000 square feet in order to accommodate today’s advanced life-saving technologies. A new telemetry floor with 24 private patient rooms will allow the hospital to convert multi-patient rooms in other areas to private without reducing capacity. The $54 million building project opened in October 2015. For over 75 years Rhode Island Medical Imaging (RIMI) has provided world class care driving innovation, research and educational excellence. RIMI has a network of 18 private state-of-the-art medical diagnostic imaging facilities staffed by over 90 board certified radiologists with broad-based experience and subspecialty training. RIMI radiologists also perform and interpret imaging for eight Rhode Island hospitals and one Massachusetts hospital. RIMI is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) including being the first outpatient Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence in Rhode Island. RIMI is an ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence with two flagship comprehensive centers in Johnston and East Greenwich. RIMI is also a designated ACR Lung Cancer Screening Center.
